Encouraging Students to Engage with International Journals: Islamic Family Law Study Program Sharia Faculty Journal Team at UIN Maliki Holds Workshop

On Thursday, January 2, 2023, the Journal Team of the Sharia Faculty at UIN Maliki Malang conducted a workshop on Writing Scientific Articles for International Journals. The event featured Siti Mutrofin, S.Kom., M.Kom., a lecturer from the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya and an editor of a Scopus-indexed journal. The workshop was attended not only by faculty members but also by ten students who had previously participated in a writing training program. The aim was to prepare them for contributing to the international arena.

Starting at 9:00 AM, the event was opened by Dr. Sudirman, M.A., Dean of the Sharia Faculty at UIN Maliki Malang. In his remarks, the dean expressed hope that the journal managers present would improve their performance and elevate two Sinta 2 journals from the Sharia Faculty to the highest accreditation level, Sinta 1. He also commended the participation of students, highlighting their potential in writing.

Ramadhita, the event organizer and editor-in-chief of the De Jure journal, stated that this workshop was the first in a series of activities planned to strengthen the faculty’s journals. “We hope that through activities like this, our colleagues’ performance can be boosted, and the journals at the Sharia Faculty can advance further,” he said. The workshop continued with a review of articles for the De Jure journal and concluded at 4:00 PM. The faculty administration closely monitored the event to ensure the effectiveness of the workshop and the review process.
