Islamic Family Law Study Program Faculty of Sharia Welcomes 28 Students from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, for Short Course Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang

SHARIA – On Monday, December 4, 2023, 28 students from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, began an inbound program running from December 1 to 9, 2023. This program is part of a collaboration between the Faculty of Sharia at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and the Academy of Islamic Studies at Universiti Malaya (APIUM), Malaysia. The Malaysian students were welcomed by the Vice-Rector, the Dean, and the Vice Deans of the Faculty of Sharia at UIN Malang. The ceremonial dialogue on the first day was held in the senate meeting room of the Ir. Soekarno building at UIN Maliki Malang.

“We warmly welcome our friends from Universiti Malaya. We hope this event will not only enhance academic capacity but also strengthen ties between institutions, leading to concrete collaborations such as follow-up activities, seminars, and joint research,” said Prof. Dr. Sudirman, M.A., Dean of the Faculty of Sharia.

The inbound program will run for nine days, featuring activities such as visits to key landmarks of the Faculty of Sharia at UIN Malang, academic classes with professors from the Faculty of Sharia, and student activities including discussions and information sharing between Universiti Malaya students and students from the International Class Program (ICP) of the Faculty of Sharia at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. “This program aims to enhance students’ academic skills by learning more about the culture and legal systems of other countries. We hope this event will benefit UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, especially the Faculty of Sharia, and become a sustainable activity,” said Risma Nur Arifah, the program’s organizing committee chair.
