Workshop on Merdeka Campus Curriculum for Islamic Family Law Program: A Step Towards FIBAA
SHARIA – The Islamic Family Law Program at the Faculty of Sharia, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang, is continuously striving to become a leading international program. Having received the AUN-QA certification in 2022, the Islamic Family Law Program is now preparing to enter the international arena by applying for FIBAA accreditation.
As a pre-submission step, the Islamic Family Law Program held a FIBAA curriculum workshop, featuring two speakers: Prof. Dr. Pujiyono, S.H., M.H. from the Faculty of Law at Sebelas Maret University and Dr. Meinarni Susilowati, M.Ed. from the Quality Assurance Institute of UIN Maliki Malang. This event took place over two days, June 19-20, 2022, at the Samara Resort Hotel in Batu City.
During the event, the speakers not only presented material on the international FIBAA curriculum but also provided feedback on the curriculum of the Islamic Family Law Program. They shared tips and tricks for achieving excellence on the international stage, emphasizing the importance of student participation in international events.
Prof. Dr. Umi Sumbulah, M.Ag., Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at UIN Maliki Malang, attended and delivered a speech. She emphasized that curriculum development should align with the university’s vision and mission, the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka curriculum, and accreditation requirements. Prof. Umi also announced the exciting news about the opening of new programs in engineering and Hadith Studies.
The workshop was attended by the entire accreditation document preparation team, comprising educators and staff from the Faculty of Sharia. Discussions on curriculum and FIBAA accreditation preparations were lively, involving all present parties. Dr. Sudirman, M.A, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, expressed hope that the event would not only enhance the accreditation documents to be submitted soon but also serve as a bridge for curriculum improvement and implementation within the Islamic Family Law Program and the Faculty of Sharia.
