Conducting Internal Quality Audits: The Islamic Family Law Study Program Faculty of Sharia’s Commitment to Enhancing Academic Quality and Improvement
SHARIA – As part of the routine cycle of PPEPP (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) for internal quality assurance, a simultaneous Internal Quality Audit was conducted at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, including the Faculty of Sharia, which has entered its 17th cycle. The audit took place from Wednesday to Friday, August 7-9, 2024.
The event began with the opening ceremony led by the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Prof. Dr. Sudirman, M.A., and was attended by vice deans, including the vice dean for curriculum, the vice dean for administration, and the vice dean for student affairs, along with program directors, heads of the general administration, faculty officials, the Sharia faculty’s quality assurance team, and educational staff. The opening ceremony was held in the first-floor meeting room of the Faculty of Sharia at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim.
The auditors were Dr. Fauzan Almanshur, ST, MM as the lead auditor, Apt. Alifia Putri Febriayanti, M. Farm. Klin., Fantika Febry Puspitasari, M.Pd., and Abd Hamid Cholili, M.Psi. After the ceremonial activities, the audit process continued with audits of faculty leaders and program directors in their respective offices. The programs audited at the Faculty of Sharia included Islamic Family Law, Sharia Economic Law, Constitutional Law, Qur’anic Studies and Interpretation, and the newly established Hadith Studies. The audit findings were presented to the Faculty of Sharia leadership and used as evaluation material for the Management Review Meeting at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. This reflects the academic community’s commitment to maintaining high-quality higher education and supporting the achievement of superior international accreditation.
This event is held annually by the Quality Assurance Institute of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The audit process, led by LPM, introduced a new element this cycle, as previous cycles did not include the presentation of findings for discussion and confirmation with institution leaders at the program or dean level. Important findings related to curriculum, education, community service, and research within the programs were specifically addressed during the internal quality audit. Auditors confirmed data and findings based on documents uploaded to the e-SPMI application. This process demonstrates the Faculty of Sharia’s commitment to enhancing the quality and academic improvement of the institution.
